Friends,
As you know, a group of Clemson engineering students will be visiting a number of the adopted villages in Haiti in June. They will be doing a needs assessment and some design work for water systems, etc.
It will be very helpful if you can provide us with the following information about your villages:
1- Existing projects and how we may be able to help.
2- Any needs that you know and what specifically we can do to help.
3- Any specific information we may be able to obtain for you.
4- Any suggestions you have for us.
It would also be helpful if an individual from each adopted village sponsoring organization provide me with the following:
1- A history of the work with your village. When adopted? By whom? Completed projects. Approximate costs?
2- Planned projects. Expected costs?
3- Learnings? What have you learned from your experiences. What works? What does not work? What would you do differently? What are your concerns?
4- What are your plans for continued work with your village? Do you have annual commitments, e.g. teachers salaries, supplies, etc. What are they?
All of this information will help us as we plan for the future and try to get more parishes involved in the adopt a village program.
Best regards, Earl
