I just started using the CHAP timeline - thanks very much for an excellent tool.
When I joined this group and had a look around, I noticed a few references to vis.js. I would be grateful for some idea about the how the vis timeline compares to the CHAP one - not so much in technical terms, but more in terms of how development and support for each of them is likely to proceed.

thanks, glad you like it :).

vis.js is the successor of chap-links-library. vis.js is under active development and is meant to replace chap-links-library completely. For chap-links-library, we mainly do bug-fixing now.

Many thanks for such a quick reply. Perhaps it would be worth a note to that effect on the CHAP link main page?

Yes we will definitely do that. It's only since last Friday that we released vis.js 1.0.0, containing a Timeline which finally is largely on par with the old Timeline.

Is there a google group for VIS?

No, we decided just use github issues for both bug reports and questions. (having half of the questions in google groups and half of them in github issues turned out to be not that handy).

So please ask your questions on github.
