Error with translation

I've corrected some lines in the "lang-russian.inc.php", but when I'm
truing to upload this file to server, error massages, unknown symbols
like ????&?&?^???^?^> or something like that appear. After loading
file that included in original archive everything works. I've tried to
save in UTF-8 and ANSI-1251.
How cam i solve this problem?

P.S. some massages in original translation are not translated/

What text editor you use for editing language files? I'm personally
suggest you use EmEditor to avoid problems with encoding
and save file(if it not already) as WINDOWS-1251
