Youwill not find any bots or hacks or dupes here. I respect the game hack free and I think the game would have been insanely good without the dupes, hacks or bots. I don't have anything against trainers as they are exclusive to single player and I think that people can do whatever they want (even botting) as long as it's single player.
Hero editors or trainers are used for single player editing of characters. The one that works across multiple versions of Diablo II, including 1.13, Pluggy and the newest official version - Hero Editor v1.04
Now please take this with the following consideratoin - Playing single player has been more and more popular in the recent years, especially with the Pluggy mode. People are playing legit characters and gearing themselves with self-found items. This is what Diablo II is all about. Trainers ruin this good feeling easily. It might feel like a good idea to give yourself a little start with a trainer but believe me - this will not last long and disappointment will soon kick in. If you still think you want to use a trainer, continue and download on your own caution.
The trainer will not load your Diablo 2: Resurrected d2s files directly but what you can do is edit a Legacy character (such as 1.14) and once finished, copy its d2s file from the Legacy directory to the D2:Resurrected directory. More info on locations below
You can import/export these items as item files through a trianer such as the Hero Editor. The items are in a .d2i format. You can import items from the library to gear up an experimental build or just to start with an already geared character. The export function is also really good. If you have found an item and you want to share it (as an item file) with the rest of the world, you can export this item into a .d2i file where others can use too.
I am doing a D2 Item pack of my own but it's not completely ready yet. Still, has very good items and will update it over time. Everything in this item pack will be legit, self-found (mostly) and properly working. Check it out below
Diablo 2 is available for download for free, even on the official Blizzard Sites. So i will just lay out the link here (scroll down to Classic Games) - Official Blizzard Download. The installation requires a CD-Key. I will not be giving away CD-Keys, best if you purchase the game and you will receive a CD-Key or you can try search for a CD-Key online. Some good-hearted users on Reddit have shared they keys for the sole purpose of people installing the game.
PlugY is Diablo II mod that is famous for preserving the game as it is while only extending the Stash of the character to infinite tabs and the stash is sharable across chracters for easy muling. The mod requires 1.13d version of the game so we need to do a little setup before we can play it.
Some people are having a lot of fun to try and collect all the unique and set items in the game. This is usually happening on PlugY where the stash can hold all the items for evidence. Another advanced achivement is to actually have a screenshot of each item dropping. I will be soon developing an app to the Holy Grail where you will be able to record and upload your own Holy Grail lists but until it's ready you can download this Holy Grail folder pack below. It just contains empty folders but they are sorted properly so you can put your drop screenshots in there.
So basically just unzip the archive somewhere. It is a collection of empty folders. Whenever you find an item, screenshot it while on the ground, then take the screenshot from your Diablo II folder and cut/paste it to the relevant folder inside the Holy Grail structure.
The tool and files you can find here will only change the font color of items and properties. These files can be deleted at any time and nothing else is going to change when that happens. Which makes this a non-destructive way of changing the way items are shown in the game (playing both Main Campaign and Custom Game).
Note: If you are using the Files, check out a separate GitHub - Repository as it may have more up to date Full Rainbow files for all Languages, check there after a HotFix to Grim Dawn.

I'm playing Diablo II Lord of Destruction, single-player, for some nostalgia. I have my character saved from many years ago, a level 40 Amazon. I'm not currently using any mods or "cheat-like" methods. My inventory is overstuffed with gems and runes; moreso gems, esp. many perfects. But I never seem to find a good use for them. So far, the items/weapons/armor that I have are all holding up well enough, most being unique (yellow), and in the rare case I get a new drop that looks like a good upgrade, it's obviously usually unique too, and never socketed.
So that's a long-winded way of asking, is there any point to hoarding gems at all? And what about runes? The latter, I assume, is a bit more tempting, due to rune-words. I can't see any revolutionary benefit coming from my growing stock of perfect gems.
Side-note, I am open to using limited mods, such as an inventory expander / database / helper or something. Item dupe-ing is pushing it; raw item editors seem like a total cheat. I've been playing (farming) on Act 4 (Pandemonium Fortress - Chaos Sanctuary) for a long long time now, and it's getting dull.
As for runes, you should focus on runewords useful for your class - see Runewords list. You can upgrade low level runes into higher level ones. Some high level runes are useful even without runewords - for example, Ohm (+50% Damage) and Zod (item become indestructible). So you should be interested in keeping all runes you found to upgrade them eventually.
As for perfect gems, I personally use them to reroll charms - there is recipe any 3 perfect gems/skulls + magic item = random magic item of same type and it requires lots of gems to roll good charms - I personally try to roll +X all resistances small charms and +1 skill grand charms. Having good charms helps a lot on Hell difficulty. You can see list of all possible charms suffixes/prefixes here.
Although GoMule does edit the Diablo 2 game files, it cannot be considered a character or item 'editor'. There are very strict restrictions on what you can edit, GoMule will never support stat, skill or item property editing.
It is software that allows you to create separate file on your disk to store your stuff. It works with save files, but never touches game files. It also automatically creates your save backups every time you attempt to change something, so you won't lose your char if something goes wrong.
Starting with gems, as you can probably guess from the lvl requirement, even perfect only requires 18. They are not for end game equips, keep enough to upgrade your runes and you are okay, alternatively you can use them to boost areas of weakness before you get good equips that does more. I wouldn't keep more than 4 perfect even of those I usually use. Those for upgrading runes should take priority.
Occasionally, somewhat decent magic/rare loots may come with small number of sockets(up to 2 for rare and 4 for magic) which basically allows you to customise the remaining part of that item. Percentage effect from gems can be useful even till later into the game. Though runes often perform better in most situations.
The results depend on the the level of the character that crafts the item and the level of the original base item. The level of jewel does not matter (the crummy ones dropped in Act 1 Normal work just as well as a Rainbow Facet).
I don't know if duping is possible online -- this method only works for offline characters. It's useful in particular for duping runes and gems, so that you can make runewords like Enigma armor. You can also dupe gold with this method (and if you're lucky enough to find a Stone of Jordan, you could dupe that too).
- Put whatever you want to dupe in your private stash. Back up your save files on USB or PS+ cloud.
- Copy the items from your private stash to your shared stash. Save and quit.
- Download/restore your character's save file, but NOT your shared stash save file. Now you will have the items in your private stash *and* in your shared stash.
It's much more complicated to item dupe on PS5, since you can't back up individual pieces of your save file -- the shared stash is bundled in the same file as your characters, so you can't back up and restore just one of them or the other. Fortunately, there is another method that works based on the shared stash currently being buggy. First, a couple words of warning:
- The shared stash is *really* glitchy in offline games. Backup your save files often and *be careful*. Keep extra copies of important items in your private stash (which is not buggy) in case you screw up and accidentally glitch your shared stash.
The ability to duplicate gold will also help with gambling a unique item. If you can completely fill every stash tab and personal inventory to the max with gold, you can then back up your offline character, gamble away all your gold, and if you don't get a unique item you can recover your backed up save files to have max gold again and continue to gamble. Much easier than naturally gambling as you collect gold.
