I have been asked to respond to an RFQ from the Federal Voting
Assistance Program (FVAP.gov). This is the part of the US government
that has been setup (out of the Department of Defense) that
facilitates the voting process for US Citizens living abroad including
uniformed servicemen/women in the military, their voting age
dependents and US citizens living abroad. In all this may amount to as
many as 7 million voters living abroad.
The RFQ, due on March 26, is looking for the implementation of an
online voting system -- there are 3 specific test cases that must be
functional in the RFQ response. A call centre to help the online
voters will also be setup and tested in the November 2010 US, mid term
election.
There are lots of details to be filled in as the RFQ is not as
detailed as I'd like, but I am wondering if
1. There are people here in ChangeCamp that may be interested in
helping the process, especially from a technical implementation
perspective.
2. You may be interested in forming the call centre part of the RFQ --
supporting the effort.
If you are interested, please send me an email to
al...@newpathconsulting.com and I will put you on the list. Feel free
to ask questions about it -- I am happy to tell you as much as I know
about it.
But remember, the response goes in on March 26.
Thanks...
