Are you happy with this dongle? I want to try a project with 5 to 10 dongles and I was thinking which is the best model for calls/SMS/USSD.

I am looking for dongles that are avalible on the market now.

Call termination =>  22,000 Minute per day

Hey,

Wich codec are u using for sip ?
Are u using G729 ?
And could u give us the exact reference of ur cpu ?
Because if it's the case your cpu can't handle all those call (50 simultaneous call).

Very impressive. What make/model of USB hub are you using ?
Have managed to get 4 E153's (original Huawei) running with a D-Link power USB2.0 hub, but adding a 5th dongle seems to make things unstable. Changed the power adapter with a 3.0Amps one and problem wasn't resolved.

Hi musfiq... Sorry to bother you.... But can you guide me on how to let my e153 work?

I can't make it work for incomming and outgoing calls....

But the asterisk detects the usb...

Its on modem mode as i have switched it using mode switch...

I think what i lack is proper configuration for dialplan and dongle.conf

Also when i try to call outside.... The dongle state turns to dialing and stays like that forever unless i restart asterisk., can you guide me? Thanks

Could you tell me which version of asterisk are you using.
Beacause i'm using asterisk with only 10 dongles and when there is a lot of call, several call drops with less than 30s and when i hear the recorded voice.

Of course I'm using an external powered usb hub.
So the problem is not from power.

During a 2g call one dongle require around 0.25A current, so for 10 dongle you will requier atlist 2.5A. So please check your external power supply can handle that much of current.

And also check for the tempure issue in USB HUB chip set. When call flow is high this chip became very hot and get reset and all call for that HUB droped.

Hey,

I just checked the external power of my HUB and the out put is exactly 2.5A and i remember that there was only 5 dongle connected to that hub when call start to drop.
And about the USB HUB should i buy an external ventilateur like this :p :

But to be honest i got the same idea about the chip is becoming hot, because the problem came only after few days of working.

And the USB HUB is it normal that he became hot or it's not important.

Best regards

Hello Giovanni,

Please tell me do you have any radio interference between those modems ?

Do you use some heat sink for that usb hub ?

How many concurrent calls did you have the most ? Did you test it with 49 concurrent calls ? Which codecs do you use ulaw, alaw or g729 ?

Which computer do you use ? (cpu+memory)

Thank you,

Hello,

I would also like to know which power adapter did you use with that hub as that could be a problem if it can't provide enough power.

it will took quite long time around 1 minute to be replugged.

but not all event is this, sometime the dongle is just HANG, cannot run any AT Command. this need REAL replug the dongle on usb port.

any idea with this hang ? maybe its too hot problem or just firmware issue the hang ?

Check your power. If you have an unpowered usb-hub you can have those
problems.

I never use e153 and i don't know if this is a firmware problem.
