Still i, for my strange K3765 that react as E180 to an ATI... in my previous post i've just noted that IMEI number was missing, but i supposed was because the SIM was not inserted.

Now i've inserted the SIM, 'dongle discovery' seems to do the right thing:

 eraldo*CLI> dongle discovery
 ; discovered device
 [dc__8002](defaults)
 ;audio=/dev/ttyUSB3
 ;data=/dev/ttyUSB4
 imei=
 imsi=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

but if i load the module i get:

     -- [dongle0] Trying to connect on /dev/ttyUSB4...
-- [dongle0] Dongle has connected, initializing...
 [Nov 23 10:37:31] ERROR[23179]: at_response.c:360 at_response_error: [dongle0] Getting IMEI number failed
     -- [dongle0] Error initializing Dongle
     -- [dongle0] Dongle has disconnected

seems that i can remove the plastic cover from the stick to read the IMEI, but how can i ''reinsert'' them?

And, more important, because my stick have no IMEI?

Thanks.

Ok, i've opened the plastic shield and there's no IMEI print/label inside, but the sticker on the chip confirm me that is a  K3765, so probably someone have flashed the wrong firmware because the dongle react to an ATI as an E180.

Reading around, seems that is a ''normal'' behaviour of some stick/phones: if flashed with wrong firmware, result to have a null IMEI.

Strange thing, ive tried to connect to internet (eg, using the stick for the intended use ;), and works, so seems that at least for the data connection, a missing IMEI does not care.

Someone can give me some hint on how to restore the correct firmware? Thanks.

...i've read that: as stated another post, i've tried to upgrade to the newer version of the 'K3765' firmware, but refuse to upgrade because say there's the wrong stick.
AFAI've understood well, the stick was wrongly burned with a E180 firmware.

There's a way i can put back in the correct latest K3765 firmware? Or at least an hope that if i burn another E180 firmware revision, i can get back the IMEI?

Thanks.
