SELP Leader - My Inauthenticity

I was doing mock of my introduction on WD 1 with my coach Rishi Modi and in my introduction I was sharing about the breakthrough I created with my father in the Landmark Forum. Rishi asked why are you sharing about Forum? This is SELP, why don’t you share about what you created in the SELP? I said OK I will share that and we will talk again after 2 days.
 
I spent 7 hours but could not come up with anything I created in the SELP, for me I didn’t get anything in my SELP because my project was not completed. I concluded at the end of my SELP that my SELP failed because my project didn't complete.
 
Then I went down my memory lanes and recalled what exactly had happened in my SELP and discovered the facts below:
 
I didn't miss/late a single session or group meeting (those days we didn’t have coaching calls).
 
17 of my classmates, my elder brother and elder sister did the Landmark Forum and many more attended my community guest events and the HILF I organized during my SELP.
 
I shared my project with over 50 of my classmates in IIT, family, neighbors, and gardeners in my colony, PWD & NDMC officials and created 5 leaders.
 
Before SELP I was extremely shy, my listening with my classmates was that I was below average and do not participate in anything, don't take any initiative and only talk talk talk. I used to have inferiority complex with most people in IIT as I was from a Hindi Medium Govt. School. I used to be the sleepy, irrelevant member of my class and in the SELP I woke up in life!
 
During SELP when I did my project, my listening altered from being non-participating to being bold, initiator and a decisive leader. I got my SELF, Self-confidence and courage. I started expressing myself boldly with people and being unstoppable no matter what questions or comments were thrown at me. My hostel room was renamed “Sharing Garden” as all the time someone or the other was sharing what they got from Landmark Forum! At the completion of SELP everyone was enrolled in my being a Landmark Forum Leader and even till today after 11 years my classmates ask me about when will I start leading the Landmark Forum, they will review it again.
 
I worked hard (the most in 4 years!) in labs to do the research work and presented a technical research paper in an international conference.
 
I got the highest salary placement in campus recruitment.
 
I enrolled Sudeepa (my wife) to be my girl friend!
 
And for last 10 years I have been saying in my head that SELP doesn’t work!

The impact has been that I was suppressed, leading In order to, burdened, somehow trying to make it. The participants, coaches, head coaches, production team got cheated. My coaches failed and frustrated. The enterprise got damaged. I had tears in my eyes when I saw this today morning.
 
I apologize to everyone. Please forgive me.
 
The possibility I am inventing for my self is Self Expression and Leadership!
 
I shared this today with Sudeepa and she said “in last 11 years I have never seen you so inspired about SELP and I never knew what you got from the SELP because I didn’t know you before, but I always wondered when you do so well everywhere how come you fail only in SELP”
 
I shared in the morning with my roommate from IIT and he said, “SELP was THE turning point of your life! And I never knew that you were not present to it. Rather I always thought that you became an SELP Leader because SELP worked so well for you!”
 
I shared with Rishi Modi in the morning and got connected to our community of SELP Leaders! He said, “this is perfect example of Attachment Vs Commitment”. Rishi, I can never thank you enough for the difference you have made to me and all my future participants!
 
I am committed that everyone deserves living life powerfully and living a life they love!
 
You can count on me to be the enterprise!
