Dear Bro Kimeu
Sorry for not being in touch for some time.
The Mzuzu Chapter had a meeting on Sunday and are planning to visit Chaminade this coming weekend.
Once the logistics have been finalized you will be advised.
I am sure the other chapters too should have some updates to give.
Regards
Titus Mtegha

I sent out a notice calling for a meeting for the Blantyre Chapter, but regrettably only two old boys responded. As such there has been no formal meeting.

I am glad that you have responded, Sangwani. However, I am disheartened that despite numerous emails being shared on this subject, when the call is made to meet so we can develop an action plan, there is a very cold reception. Have we lost connection with our roots such that we do not care about the plight of our school? For Blantyre based old boys, we need to redeem ourselves here. If there is sufficient conviction in us that this is a noble cause worth pursuing, then I would appeal to you Sangwani to try to set up another meeting. However, if the reception remains the same, then we might as well shut up and forever hold our peace.
I, for one, together with two of my fellow Eagles, drove all the way to Chaminade in 2003 for the 40th anniversary celebration and we are prepared to do the same again, if nobody else cares. I do not mean to be rude, but I thought I should air out my views to you all. I sincerely apologize if this email offends you and I hope you find it within you to forgive me.
Kindest regards,
Daniel.

Many thanks Wiseman for your response. I am delighted to hear that there are some unsung heroes who are already doing something about this initiative without waiting for meetings that may not materialize. That is the spirit. It would be ideal to meet and coordinate efforts to ensure that our combined efforts are pushing in the same direction. It might be that somebody is able to deal with the transport issue easily or there may be others able to help with more paint. I am sure you see where this is going. I still feel we could achieve a lot if only we could come together and coordinate our efforts. No other school has such a heritage like ours and if we came together, we can uplift that school to its old glory and at the same time motivate the current crop of Eagles there.

I do not think what you have said is offensive. If it is, then it is not offensive enough! You are right.
Supporting the school is more that a just and noble cause that we JUST HAVE TO DO at all cost. I have pledged not less than 100 littles of paint. I have mobilized moe than that amount and now working on logistical issues to get the paint to Karonga because my truck is down at the moment. Last week I talked to Fr Eugene Ngoma, my former classmate at Chaminade, on how we can organize the transport. So, at least, there are a few people who are moving things. I will soon be reporting on the paint, the cash, and other forms of support on the way to the school.

I can’t agree more! Keep the fire burning? But looks like I lost my direct access to the group.

Regret to announce that the proposed Friday meeting has been called off. The response has been very poor and very disappointing. This time only Dan Jere has responded. The last time it was him and Chrispine Banda.
This actually reminds me of what an old boy Dumisani Chatima once said. He thought that many of us are no longer eagles but lumbes or bwabwalalas.
To the old boys around Blantyre that are still eagles and still care about their roots please contact the following for your contributions and suggestions;
Best regards
