Please urge MBC to talk to some of the old boys as well. They can do it even by photo and include interview crips in the programme. Those in Mzuzu can be interviewed at the MBC studios or in their individual offices.

Thanks, Titus.

I thought he is based in Mzuzu. That being the case, let me have his photo or email so I can give him some tips and suggestions on who he can possibly interview in Blantyre and Zomba.

In the next few weeks I will be doing a radio programme on Capital FM on the 10th anniversally of an organization I am a board member for. I will talk to Aludin Osman and Brian Banda on the possibility of doing a similar programme on the Chaminade celebrations.

For the MBC one, I can also tip the gentleman on who he can retrieve some of the Top of the Class recordings in their archives and build them into the programme to make it even more exciting.

Wiseman

Please be advised the gentleman from MBC is based in Blantyre and he will travel all way from Blantyre to Karonga.

So if he is Blantyre based he can even interview those in Bt and ZA as well!

Nations,

That's great. Encourage the others. I was in Lilongwe yestarday, travelled back to Zomba in the night. I am likely to be there again next week and the week after. Share with us your schedule for meeting so we can exchange notes. Get in touch with Steven Chizimbi at Summit Consulting Group in NASFA House behind the Standard Bank, City Centre, or drop him an email at stevenc...@yahoo.com. I have been in touch with him on the same issue and has expressed interest to be involved.

Lilongwe based Old Boys,

Any opportunity of us getting together before the main event so that we strategize on our
contribution. Initially we could meet at Golf Club/Safari Club in Old Town.

I have seen offers being made, people asking for quotations, others asking for more info on specific issues, suggestions about events/activities for the celebrations; and there are groups meeting in some parts of the country. Are these not indicators for growing enthusiasm?> >As for the MBC offer, I would say we go for it. In fact I had also talked to some people at MBC and other radio stations for interviews and features related to the event. We are likely to have other radio stations coming in as well. I am at present using my membership in the Media Council to lobby media outlets to feature the event. A few of you may be approached for interviews, etc. One of the Chanco students who writes features in newspapers haspromised to do one on Chaminade and the upcoming celebrations. There is also a lot of lobbying going on at the individual level. So, don't be worried about enthusiasm.> >W. I have trained two Malawian graduates in journalism, they are in Malawi. I pay them pending the launching of the media company I want to establish. I can ask them to work the video for the occasion and they can conduct very intresting interviews. If this is ok confirm so that I work with them to come to Chaminade on the occasion, they could be there to prepare a documentary, that would include looking at all the prepartyaions taking plcae now. They could, while in Blatbrye interview some very prominent Chaminadees, like Justice Nyirnda, Penso Mtegha, Justice Mtambo, Modicai Msisha, Zucas Cjrambo, Spuy Msiska, Kinnah Phiri, Zoorro Msiska, Herman Mnthali!

Please confirm!

Will you take the proposal from Dunstain Mwaungulu to the Organising Committee for the Committee to endorse as suggested?

Otherwise a very welcome idea.

Hello Mr. Mtegha,

Thak you for the message. Our next meeting will be on 4th March 2012 and I will pass this proposal to the team for discussion then I will get back to you. It is amazing our jubilee account is still empty! Though I know it takes time.

There was another prposal that the MBC newsman should interview a number of the old boys, here in karonga I can only think of you (Mtegha, Felix and Kayange). May the cordinating team leaders organise for interviews in their respective places -  Blantyre, Zomba, Lilongwe, Mzuzu and the Karonga and choose amongest themselves whos is to be interviewed.

Today is 15th of Feb 2012, have the old boys with articles to appear in the magazine subnitted these articles to you?

There was a mention that  during the celebration we should honour the old boys, how should thie be done?

Have a graced day

Titus

As for honouring old boys, headmasters and brothers, I would propose (i) Nomination  based on criteria such as academic excellence, research (at Chaminade and beyond like our professors, engineers, lawyers, teachers  etc) and contribution to society ( based on history of life achievements like work positions, worldwide recognition, sports , pastoral/charity work etc (ii) First proposition to come from the old boys and the proposal to detail at least three such contributions and be supported by at least ten members (iii) Committee to sit and  select 3-5 boys to be honoured (iv) Honour could be in form a plaque inscribing their name and category of achievement which could  be placed at the office and St. Joseph's hall and the honoured also get a plaque or trophy  stating " We honour your achievement and contribution in the category of ... and as an Old Chaminade Eagle" .  No monetary reward is required. I trust more thoughts could be added.

For the cash, we have noted the brother concern

Thanks

My view is that for now we should focus on the support that the school needs and soliciting the necessary funds.  I do not believe we have completed that exercise yet.   The issue of honoring best achievers should be left for later.  And when we come to that point we should engage in an open, objective and fair process.  We may even have to consider honoring fallen olden boys posthumously.   There will be need for unanimous support for candidates in each category and that has to be supported by facts on the ground…and not just a handful of supporters.

Best regards

Thanks

There was another prposal that the MBC newsman should interview a number of the old boys, here in karonga I can only think of you (Mtegha, Felix and Kayange). May the cordinating team leaders organise for interviews in their respective places -   Blantyre , Zomba, Lilongwe , Mzuzu and the Karonga and choose amongest themselves whos is to be interviewed.

I have trained two Malawian graduates in journalism, they are in Malawi .
