HiI don't know if this is the correct place to ask, I bought on ebay a nikon coolpix l340, I have not sold glassware on ebay for quite a while, but have a bunch to sell now. I downloaded Capture NX-D, which is supposed to be nikon's software for their cameras, but I can't figure out how to get the pictures transferred from the camera to the computer. I am using a usb cable, my hard drive doesn't take a memory card. I use to use photosuite and it had an option "get photos from...." and I cannot find anything similar on nikon's program, nor my windows 10 photo program. Any suggestions? thanks, Connie

Usually, the memory on a camera can be opened in the same manner as a memory card or CD or USB stick memory. I've never used the software that came with my camera (not the same brand as yours, but they should all be similar).

First, I set the camera to download mode (newer cameras may not even require this step). Then, I plug the USB cable into my camera and computer and turn on the camera. My computer will soon recognize that a new device was plugged in and a popup will ask what I want to do with it. Usually, I don't like the options I see, so, on my Windows computer, I instead click the "My Computer" icon and that will open a screen displaying a row of icons representing all the devices plugged into my computer, including the camera. Clicking the camera icon will open it's memory contents or picture folder for viewing, and I can drag those pictures from the camera to my computer.

I have a coolpix P610. Never had problems before doing a wifi upload to my ipad using the Nikon WMU app. Just got a new ipad with ios 14.2 Will no longer connect. Phone shows :negotiating" In ipad settings it shows connected, but on the upper left corner of the app, the wifi sign jhas a line through it.

hi. I own a Nikon coolpix l810, and I accidentally turned it on before I removed the lens cap. I took off the lens cap and the lens extended, but nothing showed up on the screen. I hit the power button again but nothing happened, except for the green ring lit up around the power button as if the camera was going to turn on. the lens is stuck out and there is no activity on the screen. I tried taking out the batteries and the SIM card, and still nothing. what is wrong with my camera?

Also, just as a quick general answer, most problems revolve around tiny dirt/dust particles making there way into the mechanism.... in my situation (my Coolpix s5100) had jammed similarly - but it was cuz the camera had overheated in the 111F heat we had today. I simply cooled the camera at home & then, took the battery in-&-out to reset it, gently tapped the side of the camera - and now it works again ;0)

miranda, sounds like the stuck lens is preventing your camera from functioning properly. Could be a bad lens motor or numerous other reasons. check on here for some repair ideas. Most likely you will have to replace the lens.

I also have had my Coolpix L810 with the lens sticking or hanging up. I purchased a 110 volt power converter for my camera and it does good on unsticking the lens. They are available at -Converter-CO... copy and paste this link into your browser. These converters will work on the L820 and l830 cameras also.

I have another similar cammera (coolpix b700) and im very happy with it. There is no problem in making IDable pictures of plants and animals. I usually take bird photos with it, sometimes also insects. Some of my photos made with the b700:

The photos (and videos) he takes - spread across a gamut from zoom to macro are amazing. Esp. considering the prices. However, sadly . this camera is not out of production and may no longer be available.

I have the 900. I am a terrible photographer and this camera randomly hides and exaggerates my terribleness. I have a hard time with digital focusing and long for the days when you twisted a lens to focus. I have had the camera for over a year and have yet to master (understand) the settings. Still I have managed the occasional nice bird picture from long distances. I was hoping to use it to photograph fish in the field but have found it very awkward to use for this. It requires a substantial tripod.

I have taken most of my iNat photos (mostly lichens) using P1000. I have found it very good for even close-up photos, if there is sufficient light. Zoom is very nice because often the targets are high up in a tree or other side of a ditch or other ways non-accessible.

There is even kind of manual focus option in P1000, but I have not much used it, neither the other fancy features that it has; I usually just point and shoot.

Theoretically, P1000 can get GPS information from phone, but in practice it does not work: the location is not updated, or location jumps even kilometres between photos. Therefore I always take a photo with my phone first, just to get the true location recorded.
