Have you been close to someone with a drug addiction? Was Liz's
portrayal of her parents similar to your experience?

I think the fact that Liz was a child when she was skews her view while offering a different perspective. She viewed her parents addiction as an "immediate need" to be dealt with so that other needs could be met. I want to say that I think the relationship associations probably determine the experience as much as the addiction itself. For example, a parent who has a child who suffers from addiction will have a much different experience than a child who has a parent who is addicted to drugs.
