I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break! I just wanted to send an
update and get everyone on the same page...
* Our final project and presentation are due Tuesday, April 13
(4/13/2010).
* To post attachments to Google Groups, click on files on the menu on
the right-hand side of the page and upload it as a word document. By
this point, interviews should be near completion, so please post your
questions and answers in a .doc or .docx file.
I posted my summary of the internal communication of public schools
(SAISD)... I am working on the external communication portion and will
get that posted by the first of April (4/01/10).
I think 4/01/10 is a good due date for everyone to have submitted
their interviews: remember, we need at least one from each
preferably: private school administration, private school teacher,
public school administration, and public school teacher.
Let's plan on making 4/06/10 the due date for everyone's respective
parts. Please post these as well to Google Groups. So far, this is
the breakdown of parts to be completed that I have recorded for
everyone:
Natalie Rodick (me) -
* Summary of internal/external communication from handbooks and
printed policies/procedures for public and private schools. (So far,
I only have information from the public school district, and the
external, or teacher-student/teacher-parent handbook for a private
school. If anyone can get there hands on the internal (administration-
faculty) policies or procedures for a private school, that would be
very helpful!)
* Facts and figures (or important, universal stats) for public vs.
private schools
Jennifer Rose -
* History of the San Antonio school system, background information on
the formation of the public and private school systems as they are
today.
Jennifer Hughes -
* Fun facts and figures
* Offered to do much of the PP for the presentation
So, we still need someone to do the analysis of the interviews once
they have all been conducted and posted to GG (a summary of the
information, and a compare/contrast perhaps of communication in
private vs. public schools). Of course, we first need everyone to
post their interviews to the files section.
We will all probably need to get together outside of class closer to
the presentation date to put the presentation together and work with
Jennifer on the PP, etc.
If anyone has ANY other things I've left off that we've discussed, or
ideas for the project, PLEASE post them to Google Groups. Also, if
anyone would like to volunteer to do the interviews analysis, that
would be greatly appreciated. I would do that too, but I honestly
just don't have the time to do that in addition to my other
responsibilities.
I'm not positive that everyone is accessing Google Groups, so if
everyone could please respond to this, even if just to confirm what
I've said, please do ASAP.
