Hi all,
I have maintained firefox-kde-opensuse on Arch's AUR for more than 2 years.
Thanks to opensuse guys work, it brings us great integration between firefox
and KDE.

For those who don't know about this package, it contains integrations
including:
- default browser setting
- KDE open/save file dialog
- Correct download file association program
- Correct email client
- use KDE proxy setting
- Can use akegrator as rss client
- Notification
- When you using dolphin and konqueror, "Open Containing folder" will make
downloaded file focused in dolphin/konqueror.

Some days ago I finally tried to build a bundle with this package, and add
proper adjustion to make it work under bundle and post it here:
http://chakra-project.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?id=8581

So I'm just here asking for uploading this bundle to bundle repo, I can keep
maintaining it in chakra.

Regards

Having in mind this is one of the most voted for packages in CCR, I don't see why we cannot offer it since you have it working.

Thnx for your work!

I would aim higher: if this bundle works well, as it seems, why not promote it to official firefox bundle? "kde integration" is a must have for a kde distro, after all.

Indeed, if we have to move this to bundles, then let's kill the
duplication. Unless there are strong reasons against that, of course.

I am using this bundle since you announced it on the forums and is impressive.. Good job!
+1 to Daniele, this bundle would fill a need that a lot of users are demanding, a stable browser with a nice kde integration.
Replace firefox vanilla bundle with this and maybe add the firefox-kde theme will improve the integration a lot.

Once this one is added to the repo's, definitely remove stable firefox bundle (3 versions is a bit much imo).

I have once trying to integrate a different theme one year ago, it
seems that if we are changing the "default" theme name to something
else, some of firefox theme function will refuse to work. Oxygen gtk
is an ok fallback..

Instead of removing them, I'd suggest doing some rename, old firefox
to -> firefox-bin.

There still might be some possiblility that patch cannot be updated in time.

BTW, seems firefox 16 have a security problem [1] and mozilla withdraw
it for now. So I'll upload and do rename after the next 16 is out.

There are enough other options for browsers if something is wrong for a bit.  Makes no sense to me to maintain 3 versions of one.
At some places 16 is withdrawn, others not.  16.1 should be out today.

And I need some bundle expert help, what dependency should I bundled in?

For example:
I compiled it with gstreamer support, but for now gstreamer is something that
installed by default.

And firefox can be compiled without most system library, should I also use
that do avoid library dependency?

OK, one big question to ask then before adding this bundle.  Is it tested in live-mode?  No new bundle can be added if it fails in live.  Installed system is no measure if Firefox bundle works, as shown .any times in the past.
The idea is to have bundles not break with repo updates, so any dep needs to be bundled in.  For example, even Qt gets bundled in for those that need it.

It depends on some kde libs actually (well kinds of optional... so it
runs without KDE)

I'll try bundle else in...

To me, if this bundle works well does not make sense to keep the other bundles in the repo as this one is the best suitable option for KDE

Replacing current bundles with this is best option. But consider adding DDG as
search engine, it was missing here, and releasing a nightly version.

While we're at it, Firefox 16 has an open vulnerabiliy and we should remove it:

I uploaded firefox-16.0.1-2 as this new package, tested under live, and add
DDG as default search engine.
