3. There are several other problems with newer Mapsource version, do yourself a favour, and downgrade. Writing and complaint e-mail to Garmin about broken Mapsource is never wrong either. How to downgrade is written here -mapsource/ :
We still use that script weekly to create Poi's for a gps using POI Loader. And the gpx opens in mapedit and mapsource. It was a bit of trial and error to get it working, but cant understand why it doesn't work in all cases.
I tested this with a Garmin GPSMAP 276C using KML source data, GPSBabel 1.3.4 and MapSource 6.13.4. It may also work for other Garmin GPS products, and possibly also for e.g. converting MapSource-authored data to another MapSource file, so feel free to play around. If you do find other models, makes and/or source formats this works with, won't you keep us updated?
