He continued singing at the Accra new town branch of the Christo Asafo church until he fell in love a band called Figo brothers band which motivated and encouraged him to start writing his own songs in 1990 with their ages thus they looked very young as musicians. According to lucky Mensah he struggled to get a producer for his songs, he then sent some demos to his half brother, William Crentil based in Germany who was happy with the song and in return sent him some money to record a mastered album. He also produced that album in 1993.
