The camera I use for my livestream admits a 3.5mm audio Jack and I want to have it wirelessly connected to the DPA 6060. Because of simplicity and weight, I want to use the Rode Wireless GO to connect the mic to the camera wirelessly.
I (Editor) was given the two transmitters and one receiver (wireless go II) with audio supposedly recorded from set. However, when I plug them into my computer - no drive shows - and when using the Rode Central App for PC it only shows an "erase and update" option to update firmware of TXs from 2.0.5 to 2.2.3. No audio files are seen or clickable behind the firmware prompt when I select the transmitter on the left menu side.
were you using an external mic plugged into the transmitter or just the transmitters built in mic? I've been using some basic earset headset style mics from microphone madness for some podcast recordings with the wireless go II system with pretty good and solid results, transmitter plugged into a tascam dr-07x.
Actually, for ref, the main - and quite long and useful - discussion of the Rode WirelessGO ii on DVXuser isn't in the audio sub-forum, but here: -news/industry-news-information/374796-rode-wireless-go-ii
Yes, esp. the DPA. But - whilst appreciating that these are a long way from a bit of kit for professional film sound recordists - that actual sound recorded and transmitted is surprisingly good, as per my tests where I cut out the effect of the onboard or external mics: -the-new-rode-wireless-go-ii
I don't know a whole lot about these wireless Rode mics but I do see that they have built-in rechargeable batteries in which case you will want to turn the MIC power off since they do not need to draw phantom power, if I am reading this correctly.
I have the Canon G60 for the past couple years and use the Rode Wireless Go wireless receiver directly connected into the 3.5mm AUX port. Been making YouTube videos using this setup for over a year and works great. So you're definitely doing something wrong.
