A fe years ago I let a friend use my iPhone to access his Netflix account and I guess that he must have saved his username and password in 1Password.
Now (when I go to the Netflix page) it autofills HIS username and password.
I have searched for "Netflix", his username, but it does it show up in Password.
Where can it be coming from?
1Password never auto-fills any information (1Password's filling requires your prompting), so as Stephen_C mentioned it is something else (possibly/most likely iCloud Keychain) that is filling those details in.
I have just purchased and set up a new Apple TV. When I try to log into Netflix or Amazon Prime it is asking for the Apple ID password for my WIFE's old email. Her email is not, and never has been associated with anything. My email is the log on for our Apple ID, Amazon and Netflix. I cannot figure out WHY it's asking for her email. Where can I change this or how can this be corrected?
Thanks for the reply, in answer to the above questions, 1, I have reset the Apple TV device 3-4 times and gone through the set up process that automatically runs when you first plug it in and turn it on and same problem. I did notice that my wife's Apple ID username and password is "saved" in passwords so deleted it and didn't help. I reset it again and went through the "manual" process and no help. Reset again and let it sync to my iPhone and still same problem. I decided to just go ahead and enter her password when prompted to do so on Netflix and then logged into Netflix with my credentials and it works fine so I guess I have a solution but there is no explanation as to why it keeps asking for her Apple ID password when it's a dormant email and has never been used to set up our Apple Accounts. She obviously has an Apple ID, but we never use it and My Apple ID is used for all purchases. I guess my other question is why would Apple TV ask for an Apple ID login just to got to Netflix or Amazon Prime when I'll STILL have to enter my login credentials for those sites again anyway?
could i ask you some silly favor could you write the password let in text file then copy it from that file then use it to login in netflix in both safari and brave just to make sure there was not mistake or issue with some key on your keyboard that play you
it happens only on netflix, other websites facebook and instagram are working, yeah i tried to copy from my phone and paste it on safari, it worked then i did the same on brave, no password incorrect.
After trying to install OS X El Capitan onto my hard drive, I've come across a problem. When it asks me to sign into my Apple ID I do with the correct information. It then says that my username or password is incorrect. I know this is not the case because I have reset my password and tested it by signing into the App Store on my phone. Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes? Thanks.
Same problem here. I just erased the disk and tried instaling from the recovery partition, and it prompts for my Apple ID & pw. Keeps telling me pw is wrong. I turned off two-factor auth thinking that was the problem, no luck. Changed pw 3 times already and each time the installer tells me pw is wrong!
I had this same problem and was unable to delete the /Users//Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts folder, as I had already erased the hard drive. I could have restored from a Time Machine backup but didn't fancy waiting all that time to restore and erase again!
First, enter your password normally and wait for the 2FA code to show up on your other device. Then, enter your password again immediately followed by the code. For example, if your code was 123456, you would enter: yourPassword123456.
I had the issue when trying to reinstall Mac OS on an old MackBook Pro (2017).I could install instead a later version of Mac OS than the one that it was shipped with (Maverick instead of Yosemite). You can do this as follows:
I have Netflix included as part of my package and it works fine on my tv. But my mobile is suddenly asking me to login to the netflix app and then says password incorrect (which it's not). I then click the link to be sent an email to reset the password but no email is ever received (and i've checked my spam).
Yes it is only the mobiles we are having a problem with, Netflix on the tv is working fine.. Both phones are samsung s23 ultras . one stopped connecting to the netflix app a couple of weeks ago and the second one was more recently.
No issues with any other applications. When you open the Netflix app it asks you to login (which it never used to) it used to be automatic login. You enter the email address and password and it says "incorrect password" which it's not. I then click the reset password link and it says an email has been sent to the email address but none has ever arrived and i've checked the spam folder as well.
Cache was minimal but cleared it and it still doesn't work. I've also tried connecting via my laptop without success, so it is not the phones that are the problem. It is only working on the tv connected to the hub and i do not have to login to that. I think it is something to do with the password/email address. I've been hearing virgin have been having big email problems recently, are there any outstanding issue with the blueyonder addresses ?
Thanks for the reply and for sharing more, Jerry007.
Sorry to hear this didn't work for you and the problem is present on more devices too.
In regard to the emails issues and your concerns about this we can advise that sending or receiving emails has been restored for all customers, would you be able to try logging from a different browser and see if you can log on to Netflix from there?
Also, can you try using this page here to log to your MV account and make a password change at account settings> account details>change password (*under sign in details) and let us know if this can be then used to access your Netflix account?
Also, is your password and email used to access Netflix same as your VM login details?
Lastly, can I ask if you're able to send and receive emails as normal from your Blueyonder account and is the email same as what we use to contact you?
Do you receive our other communications via email in general to this address?
Cheers,
Some of the user names being saved are errors .. so when you key the username box, i get a 'list' of usernames. A couple have the user name + the password because apparently did not see that the tab key did not move the curser and it was just tagged onto the user name. I'd like to be able to delete or reset the user names. All the forum questions deal with password saving, but I don't save any of my passwords and the user names are automatic unless I turn off the 'Remember search and form history'. Any suggestions?
Just-A-User 's solution sounded like it should work, but did not... no effect. But after solving the issue using cor-el 's solution ... well did I feel dumb or what?!! THX so much, I guess your direction to NOT USE THE MOUSE to delete it made all the difference. Appreciate both of you taking the time to get back to me!
Follow the instructions on screen, after you have created the file, you have to open it with Netflix add-on by choosing the login with "Authentication key". Remember to delete the Authentication key file after login.
I managed to get this to work, by downloading the NFA KEY zip files on windows PC. Did the extraction, executed the application . It loaded Chrome browser which auto nivigated to netflix page, to which i put in my username and password. Chrome closed, and key was generated in same folder as application. It popped up with a PIN.
Anyone else having issue with logging into Netflix?
I am not able to login not via native app or in Browser (Checked Brave and Firefox). Prompted with password is wrong. I've tested other phones and computers and that works fine.
Have checked for updates (Browser, app, Google play, system) Everything is up to date.
Have tried clearing cookies/cache, restarted apps, uninstalled and installed again, restarted phone. No dice.
Reset password with customer support from Netflix which automatically logs me in, but if I log out I am not able go log in again. (I am also not able to initiate password reset myself, I get error message try again later)
OK, I figured out the issue. It was my VPN blocking it somehow. ProtonVPN.
When I disconnected the VPN is was able to login.
After logging in I can turn on the VPN while using the app without problem.
A bit strange because I had no issue on my personal computer and Android TV despite using the VPN there (same servers also). Nor has this been an issue on my phone before.
We are on a long trip in Spain and many of our hotels have not had any English language TV stations. In a couple of apartments we have had Smart TVs and when I have gone to log into my own streaming services have found that people who have stayed there before me have not logged out. I have just been using that person's Netflix or Prime video to watch things - being careful not to watch anything that incurs a cost or anything R rated.
My view is that I am not harming "Tom and Lucy" or "Sylvia" in any material way. My husband thinks I am doing the wrong thing. I am not very tech savvy and have no idea how I would log someone else out on a Smart TV so I could log in. I do have Netflix on my iPad but sometimes the big screen is better.
Tom and Lucy may wonder why Netflix is sending them recommendations - based on your selections. I also wonder if you are reducing the ability for them to log in at home? Here are Netflix different plans I have Basic, so if it was my account, I wouldn't be able to watch from home if you were logged in as 'me'. So, for consideration, it may be better that you log them off and log in as 'you'.
That frequently happens to me staying at an AirBnB, and I usually don't worry about it. If the person who forgot to log out has account limitations like Maria's, Netflix always sends a message telling that person that there is an additional user and asks if they want to log them out. So you might be booted off in the middle of something, but you won't be depriving someone else of the chance to watch.
