Join the CGU Finance Club as we welcome Jeff Speakes as the guest
lecturer in our meeting this week. Mr. Speakes will lead an informal
discussion regarding job opportunities in the financial industry.
Please come prepared to ask questions relevant to the discussion and/
or Mr. Speakes background. A brief bio follows:


Jeff Speakes is President of Kern Economics and has over 30 years
experience as a senior executive in the financial services industry.
He is also a lecturer in economics at the University of Southern
California and an instructor in economics and finance at California
Lutheran University. Previously, he was Senior Managing Director and
Chief Economist for Countrywide Financial Corporation where he
developed and managed the industry leading-edge hedge program for
mortgage servicing rights. He also managed teams responsible for
economic forecasting, asset/liability management, economic capital,
and quantitative model development and validation.

He was formerly a faculty member in economics and finance at Claremont
Graduate University.

Jeff holds a PhD in economics and a MA in statistics, both from the
University of California at Berkeley. He is a CFA charterholder.
