Hi Alanna,

Thanks to you and Watts McCray for your continuing support of Grammar Rugby. It is very much appreciated.
The committee will be meeting again in the first week of July so we will definitely discuss your proposals. Some of the issues you have raised are already being addressed however you have raised a couple of new good ideas.

Many thanks again,

Good Afternoon All

Thank you for this email Jason, I have had a quick chance to read the wish list.

There are some things that Watts McCray would be interested in investigating supplying or providing specific sponsorship for.  They are:

1.       Balls with sponsors branding on them, with the school's logo also, for the use at games

2.       Blankets, towels and sideline jackets for the 1st and 2nd teams

3.       The end of year magazine – great idea by the way!

4.       Strapping tape

5.       Padding and corner flags

One last thing that came to mind the other week when it rained was some sort of shelter for the benches on the field.  I could investigate a longer marquee type thing????  Let me know.

Kind Regards

Subject: FW: CGS Rugby Update Round 7

Dear CGS Rugby Parents and Players,

Round 6 was completed with a mixed bag of results for the teams across the Junior and Senior School. Of particular note, was the U11 Div1 Navy team beating Uni-Norths 35-10 and securing 2nd position on the ladder behind the Marist Royal team. The 15A’s have now placed themselves in 2nd position of the Div 2 ladder behind St Edmunds. The 1st XV are sitting in front of Daramalan in 3rd position behind St Edmunds and Marist.

A brief explanation on the draw…

On Monday 24th June, after the Round 7 results have been registered, Round 8 will be published. Please go to the ACTJRU website HERE if you wish to know the draw ASAP. Round 8 will more than likely be an away round for Grammar teams, seeing that we have already played 5 homes games this season. Then, during the first week of the mid-year break, the final 4 rounds will be drawn up. The redraw will ensure that the tops 6 teams in the Division 1 age groups will have played each other one more time (from Rnd.8 through to Rnd.12). The top 4 Div1 teams then play semi-finals for a Grand Final place. The 7th and 8th placed Div1 teams will drop down into the Div2 and 3 ‘pools’ for the final 5 rounds. Depending on the number of teams in each Division 2 and 3 age groups, this will be broken into two pools of six teams, where the top two teams from each pool after will play a semi-final for a GF spot. I hope this has made some sense to you?

Round 6 results, Round 7 fixture times and field locations (hyperlinked) are below.

Good luck this Saturday and play your best!

Watts McCray Player of the Round:

Awarded to Harrison Jenkins who scored three tries for the 1st XV in the team’s victory over a gutsy Uni-Norths. Harrison wins a medallion, a water bottle and a $50 gift voucher from Rebel Sports.
