William Boyle Medal
The William Boyle Medal is a gift to the School from the Class of 2007 in recognition of the calibre of Will and the pride he took in his Rugby refereeing.
It is proposed that the William Boyle Medal be minted using funds raised from donations from the Class of 2007. The medal will be presented to a Canberra Grammar student who has demonstrated a commitment to refereeing that Will would have been proud of.
The Award will be given annually if a suitable candidate meets the criteria. The recipient is to demonstrate:
· - reliability in maintaining a professional commitment to the game
· - clear communication through confidence and decisive decision-making
· - personal integrity earning respect from players
· - a genuine interest in players and the game, and most importantly a love of Rugby.
The art of being an outstanding referee is a combination of physical and mental skills. These personal qualities are imperative for success.
2012 Angus Whittle
