Summer Training Update

Dear local Anchorage CGS Catechists:

I would like to encourage all local ladies who look Level 1 with Linda Kaiel last summer to consider taking Level 2 this summer.  Even if you have already had Level 2 previously, you will get so much benefit from this as a refresher course.  Both instructors are well known, excellent teachers and published authors in the method.  The course will be hosted exactly the same as last summer, including the childcare and the fabulous lunches by Abner!  Here are the details:

This course crosses over a weekend but will NOT occur on Saturday!  We listened to your evaluations from Level 1 and realized that most of us Alaskans value our weekends very highly.  So the class will be held this way:

Wed.      6/25 from 9-4:30

Thurs.    6/26 from 9-4:40

Fri.         6/27 from 9-4:40

Sat         6/28   OFF

Sun.       6/29   OFF

Mon.       6/30 from 9-4:40

Tues.      7/1   from 9-4:40

Wed.       7/2   from 9-4:30

Thurs.     7/3   from 9....until we finsh, probably early

This course is 7 days instead of 5 in order to completely cover the increased content of the curriculum in Level 2.  The in depth Liturgical lessons and Sacramental Preparation Retreat will occur next summer, 2015, including a mini-retreat in the middle of the course in which we, the course partiipant, will experience the First Communion Retreat as we would give it to the children. In order to be a part of that, you need to participate in this part 1 course.

St John's Orthodox Church needs a total of 21 course participants in order to cover the costs of both Formation Leaders; stipends, travel expenses etc.  Currnetly we have 13 confirmed course participants including 5 travelling from out of state!  

I would like to know a preliminary head count of local people who are likely to attend this course.  

The registration and first payment deadline has been extended to May 15th for the course.  If you think you are likely to attend but can't pay until the day before, that's fine and we can always work out payment later, but please register so I can plan the finances of the course.   Please email me or call me if you would like to attend.
