@All,
Like many other small projects like ours, we had recently to deal with the issue of larger hosting providers using CGRateS for profit and not returning back anything to it's community.
Again, like other projects (see Redis), we have decided that the most elegant solution would be re-licensing towards a license compatible to ours but with the additional protection needed to motivate the hosting providers contributing back to the project in some way (ie. patches which they do to maintain their forks).
We have already re-licensed 1.0 branch which has considerably less public users and hence not much impact, however we would like to find out if re-licensing of the v0.10 or master branches(0.11) will affect any of you in any way, of course giving our best to support you further.
These being said, we want to give our community a week time to come with arguments against re-licensing the two branches, to see if explaining the different licensing on different branches it makes any sense or it is useful to anyone.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts (both here or private if you need).
All the best!
DanB
