Subject: TRANSITION FROM TRDP TO FEDVIP
CG RRCs: I received below information regarding TRDP/FEDVIP from the Defense Health Agency (DHA) TRICARE Benefit Government Lead. In consideration of this and active messaging by CG-13 to retirees during the past several months, including the quarterly Retiree Newsletter, there is reasonable assurance that all CG military retirees enrolled in TRDP have been provided ample notice and guidance on TRDP/FEDVIP.
“Everyone enrolled in TRDP, regardless of service, has been mailed two letters from Delta Dental in September and November. A third post card is due to be mailed in December. These letters/post cards were mailed to the postal address registered with Delta Dental. Further, all USCG active or retired would have been mailed the Take Command Open Season post card in August based on the mailing address in DEERS. “Finally, all beneficiaries with an email address in DEERS received an email last week about TRICARE and FEDVIP Open Season. All these correspondences are based on good postal and email addresses maintained by the beneficiary. So, if they [TRDP beneficiaries] have good addresses, they received many mailings.”
CG military retirees were also reminded to review and maintain currency of their personal information in DEERS, including mailing addresses, in the October 2018 edition of the CG Retiree Newsletter. Attached is the DHA letter I received, which is among the DHA mailings to all CG military retirees enrolled in TRDP.
That said, please let me know if you encounter any retirees who haven’t gotten the word and/or are encountering problems in making the transition from TRDP to FEDVIP.
