Hi all!
I'm really pleased to send out this little piece of news: october is
very soon to be released- August 28 is the big day!
Two years ago, I wouldn't have imagined I'd be here now. When I'd
just finished in small hours, I resolved to rebuild my piano playing
and my understanding of it from the ground up. I got a good way down
that road while keeping composing at arms length, to concentrate on
the playing part it.
But the week I proposed to Shawn, I wrote her a waltz. That was the
leak that started it all. Once the waltz was written, it really
seemed like it needed some companions, and sure enough, they showed up
in record time. The music in october felt like it was writing itself
while I concerned myself with improving my musicianship.
Once the music was written, I made the difficult decision to try and
record it myself. I have no experience as an engineer or producer,
but I spent enough time hanging out in recording studios in my
twenties that I thought I might make a decent go of it.
It was a bit trickier than I expected (and I'm very lucky Shawn is
very, very patient), but eventually I started figuring it out. It was
January 15th that I made the first recording that made it onto the
record.
Many months later, I packed it up to Imaginary Road Studios in
Vermont, where Corin Nelsen mastered it. I'm happier with the sonic
quality of this project than I've ever been!
I went live with the new website this afternoon- it's another do-it-
yourselfer. I'm no graphics whiz, but I like the look of it:

I have made progress on sheet music, but I must apologize, it has been
on the back burner for too long. If you're interested in sheet music,
please do let me know (or remind me!). My first release will be the
three love songs from first fall night, in small hours, and october,
which also ends with a love song.
Thanks! I can't wait to hear what you think of the new music!
