For CGIAR-CSI members with an eye on geospatial coordination, the SDI provides highlights on recent spatial data policy and sharing developments, data collection and integration efforts, crowdsourcing and data visualization applications, and RS/GIS impacts. It also includes grant announcements, calls for papers, and links to research on inter-agency collaboration, science and policy interfaces, and the development of web-based geospatial portals, tools, and products.

The newsletter aims to raise awareness of SDI issues and provide useful information to strengthen SDI implementation efforts and support synchronization of regional activities.
