Can you run 'gdb' by itself? Is it installed and on your PATH?

i did this :

mac7$ brew --cache

/Library/Caches/Homebrew

and i went to the same directory , and then unpacked a package - i guess - called

" cgdb-0.6.8.yosemite.bottle.tar.gz "

i went to the "bin" folder and tried to open the gdb from there , and it said :

Mac7s-MacBook-Pro:~ mac7$ /Library/Caches/Homebrew/cgdb/0.6.8/bin/cgdb ; exit;

dyld: Library not loaded: @@HOMEBREW_PREFIX@@/opt/readline/lib/libreadline.6.dylib

If you can't use GDB you won't be able to use CGDB.

Once you have GDB working, CGDB will most likely work.
If you are having trouble getting GDB to work, I would probably
talk to the GDB folks.

Thanks,
Bob Rossi
