Hello Parents, I hope that you are all doing well and recovering from the Christmas/New Year busyness!

I am excited to get back into the swing of things this Friday night as we resume our alpha youth series. The lesson this week is "New Life: How do I make most of the rest of my life?"

I think it is pretty appropriate that we are studying a lesson on "new life", the first Friday back after the "new year"! I think that around this time, there are a lot of people (of all ages) who are wondering what this next year will look for them, what goals they pursue, or what ways they want to go.

Self reflection and goal setting are important things we should all do. However, this weeks alpha course is asking the question/raising the important reality that what God's plan is for our life is the most important. Following God's will in our live is the best way to ensure we are living the life He intended us to live. I hope that your child is able to make it tomorrow night.

Additionally, I wanted to remind you of a couple of other important matters.

1/5  Family Worship Sunday
We will be studying from Nehemiah chapters 8-9 and celebrating communion together.
**As I have stated before, these "family worship" Sundays are a great way for families to take advantage of the VERY LIMITED number of years they will have to worship together!

Winter Teen Conference: Registration deadline is 1/8....which is approaching shortly!!! Here are the links to register online in case you need them.

Hello Parents, I hope that you are all doing well!

I wanted to let everyone know that we will be meeting tomorrow night and continuing to study our Alpha Youth series. Last week we had to change plans last minute because a majority of our small group leaders were not able to be at church. So, this week we will study the episode "New Life" that we were supposed to study last Friday.

A big "thank you" to all of you who have registered for the Winter Teen Conference! If you somehow missed yesterday's deadline to register your youth for the winter retreat, please let me know so I can tell you how to register online past the deadline.

I hope to see you all this weekend, God bless!

Hello Parents, I hope that you are all doing well and staying warm!

As many of you have already heard: due to concerns regarding the coronavirus, Friday night fellowships have been cancelled and The Chinese New Year Celebration is postponed until 2/29. Sunday service and Sunday school will be held as regular. Hope to see you all on Sunday.

This Sunday, the youth and English congregation will be hearing from Nehemiah 11-12. What is God's plan on sustaining His people after this time of great revival? How can the nation of Israel continue to follow God in such a strong way? The answer is just as relevant to us, today, as it was to the original audience.

I have been reminded and encouraged this week while studying and preparing the text to see how "everyday" God's plan was. God brings His people back to His covenant relationship, promise, worship and call to commitment to the temple as His way of setting His people on the path to obedience.

I believe that in many ways, God's plan for us is the same. Having faith in God means that we center our hopes on His promises over our feelings. We commit ourselves to worship Him as individuals AND as a family united in faith. When we wander away from following God, God brings us back by the power of His Spirit to remind us of how Jesus Christ is our true temple, he is the one who brings the new covenant and the one who paid for our sin by shedding his blood on the cross!

Please join us this weekend as we celebrate the faithful love of God!

God bless!

"Our relationship with our phones has often coddled us, enamored us with our own love of ease, and brainwashed us, creating the false belief that relationships should be as easy as the tap of a screen. The influence of our phones can leave us desiring depth without work, intimacy without long-suffering, and community without commitment."
