Human Subjects Certification Film

an instructional film offering an alternative means of completing

the HUMAN SUBJECTS Certification Program (HSCP)

Thursday August 14, 2008

10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(lunch break from 12 noon to 1 p.m.)

 

     This instructional film is being offered to researchers and key personnel as an optional means of fulfilling the human subjects educational requirement that is regularly offered online at http://orsp.rutgers.edu/Human.asp. Attendance for the complete showing

of both parts is required in order to obtain HSCP certification via this alternative. Attendees must present a valid ID, such as a current student, faculty, or staff ID card. Those individuals present for the entire session will receive an email within approximately two weeks notifying them that their HSCP Certification is available for download from ORSP’s web site.  The film is a recording of a presentation given by Dr. Thomas Puglisi, former Director of Human Subjects Protections at the federal Office for Human Research Protections. New faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students, as well as those interested in a refresher of the pertinent ethics and regulations are invited to attend.

     The presentation is aimed at fostering the awareness of human subjects concerns relevant to research investigators and to clarify the policies of the human subjects protections program. The presentation is a part of the continuing education program provided by the Research Office, Newark.
