Good Day,

Had a request today to add a blog to a CFWheels site. I've done some
looking, but I haven't found a plugin, or what looks like a complete-
ish Blog Engine. Can anyone point me to one, or should I just grab
BlogCFC and have it outside of the CFWheels site.

Cheers,

Rob

okay,

downloaded splashCMS, and got the datasource set up etc. and i get the following error:

Could not find the included template /public/layouts/.

Viewer.cfc line 20.

This is splash CMS 0.2.5 from the git repo.

What step did I miss?

There is also a litepost port for wheels but it is more for learning.

Rob, which version did you grab? (The one at Russ repo or mine?) I
would recommend mine for now, you can find the instructions in there
on how to get it running

http://github.com/raulriera/SplashCMS

Unzip the archive to the root of your webserver
Create a MySQL or MSSQL database named whatever you want
Open the Railo web-admin or ColdFusion admin and add a DSN for the
database you created.
Open the Splash Admin. (http://yourwebroot/admin)
Use the DBMigration Plugin to “migrate” your site (will create all
tables and insert the initial data)
Login. (http://yourwebroot/admin) Default username is ‘admin’ and
password is ‘splash’ and start building your site!

Okay,

I have grabbed the latest from the Repo, no version, just the trunk.  I have installed a Railo Express on a USB drive (to keep this away from anything else while I get it to work).  I have extracted the SplashCMS site into the webroot of Railo.  I have tried going to the index, and I get a timeout error (even at 4 minutes!).  And there is no admin section at all.

I am confuddled.  I presume that I am missing a step somewhere, but I can't tell where.  I really want to try Splash, as I have a few sites where an easy CMS would be good for the client, and I don't _really_ want to build one.

Thanks for any pointers!

So, it is now running on the Railo Express, I can see three pages, but I still don't have an Admin section.... maybe I need a lesson in GIT?

HA! Found it...

index.cfm/admin gets me into the administrator.

Now to find out all the parts of the tables that need to be updated..... apparently there are a few columns missing in the SQL install script between 0.2.5 and the BER....

Sorry for the rambling!

I like that you're posting to our group and getting the conversation going, but SplashCMS does have its own Google Group too, and it's a lot more focused on just that project.

Hope you don't take that as rude or mean, but I'm just trying to be helpful to all the Splashers and keep this forum focused on the Wheels core.

No offense taken, I guess I hit reply on the wrong email, as I also have one started there about the topic as well.

My apologies to the group.

Cheers,

Rob
