As for the publishing, I think we should go paperless, thereby also
setting an example. However, a printed version can go out to places
which have any / a combination of / all of the following;
1. Poor access to the internet
2. Preference of print media
3. A group of volunteers who will actually circulate these printed
journals to the right / effective audiences
The 3rd point is key. There is no point in identifying areas with 1
and 2 and printing the journal if no one can circulate it to the right
places in time.
Format of online publication:
A blog is a good idea. Could we supplement this with an email blast,
starting with our individual contacts? No additional work required.
Can we find a way to send the blog as it is, in the form of a link or
a newsletter to the contacts?
Further, I feel all the articles of a specific volume should come out
at one shot, rather than as and when they are been written. The latter
option tends to give a feel of staleness to the entire volume as when
one refers to it, some of the articles would be old and some would be
new and some in the 'yet to be completed' stage. I personally would
not be motivated to read such a journal.
In any case, these are only my opinions......
