Hi Guys,

I'm happy to say this beast has been submitted... plenty of room for improvement when the reviewer comments come in, but I'm glad it's out there...

A pdf of the final version is attached. You'll notice I used a classic island biogeography figure for Figure 1, especially after talking to some ecologists here. 

Thanks for the large number of contributions from everyone.

Now we wait...
