Dear friends,
The Chinese faculty club usually hosts a potluck party for the Chinese new year. We will follow the tradition. In addition, the Meridian Township will kindly sponsor a Chinese New Year Celebration. I was invited to a planning meeting. The attached is the meeting note. Would you please think about what kind of performance, activities, displays that the Chinese faculty and staff at MSU can contribute? Please let me know your ideas. Thanks.

John,
I will be able to help you with performance piece.
One of the things I am doing as the Director of Neighborhood Cultural Assistance program is to work with Chinese graduate and undergraduate students to form a Chinese Musical and Performing Group (might include faculty, staff, their children and spouses as well). I will be able to provide several high -quality traditional Chinese instrument performances, singing, dance and other programs for the celebration of Chinese New Year.
I still want to schedule a meeting with you, not only introducing the programs that we are setting up, but also discussing how faculty and staff engage in these programs and benefit from them. In addition to my work with Chinese graduate students and undergraduate students, I have also had experiences with faculty and organizational development. I have worked with ICED and POD for a long time. I have also worked with Deb Dezure, the Director of FOD at MSU in the past. There would be things that I can work with Deb's office for Chinese faculty development that might be of special interest to you.
Warm regards,
