I got a notification that one plugin had an update available, but had to restart my machine before I acted on it, and now I don't know how to get that info back. Is there some way to search for updates to all installed plugins? Check For updates, appears ot only check IDEA itself.

Thanks,
Dave

Far as I can tell, that only check for updates to IDEA itself, as I said. I got that one alert about a plugin update, nothing since, even when I do Check For Updates.

Does that not match your experience?

Did you check the events log?

Also, just to go to plugins and/or browse repositories. that should show you as well.

In Settings > Plugins, I don't see either any indication that any plugins have updates available, or any way to ask it to check. Do you?

In Browse Repositories, the one plugin I thought might remember as the one with an update has its name in blue, which is supposed to mean there's an update available, but Update Plugin in its context menu is still disabled. Any idea what needs to happen to enable the Update menu item?

I'm wondering if you have already updated it.

Nothing relevant in the event log, far as I can see.

The one plugin I'm specifically wondering about still shows as blue in repository view, so it doesn't look like it's been updated.

Looking through everything in repository view, I see a number of others in blue also, none of which have Update enabled in their context menu. There are also some in red, most of which I don't have enabled and/or installed.

If this is how you're supposed to manage plugin updates, it'd be really reasonable if you could restrict repository view to ones you have installed. If you're supposed to manage updates directly through Settings > Plugins, it'd be great if updated status color was available there, or better yet, filtering by update status. In either case, it'd be great if the Update context menu item was enabled when it applies.

It's a little weird I never noticed how apparently broken this all is before, as I've been using IDEA for a number of years now. I wonder if this apparent breakage is new. I'm on 12.1.6. Think I'll report this set of behaviors as a bug when I get a chance.

Thanks for your thoughts Mark,
Dave
