Dear Fellow Developers,

I am currently working in a team with 3 active members developing an Open Source eCommerce application called Slatwall that runs on MuraCMS.  We have been in development now for about 6 months and are coming down home stretch for our version 1.0 release.  I just wanted to introduce you all to the project and let you know that we are very open to help from anyone in the community... this is designed to be "our project".  If eCommerce and Business Management tools are something that you are interested in we'd love your help.  We host all of our Source Code, Documentatin Wiki and Roadmap on Github so it is very easy to jump right in and get started.

For more information we have a marketing website (very raw) that can be found here: http://www.getslatwall.com/
More importantly you can get the most information from the github repository here: http://www.github.com/ten24/Slatwall

We are 100% open to ideas from anyone, and not set in our ways about ANYTHING so if you have good ideas now is a great time to get involved.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks,
Greg Moser

Greg,

We're considering doing the sales brochure section of
GreatDentalWebsites.com in Mura. We currently use google checkout for
our cart process, and it's pretty basic. I have a few questions for
you:

1) Does this support monthly/yearly/quarterly subscriptions
2) What payment gateway does this tie into (Google checkout?)

Thanks for doing this

Hey Jeff,

As of right this moment, we don't have the subscription service built in... but there is a client that we expect to go live with in the next couple of months that will be doing a very in-depth subscription service, so obviously the those features will be built in over the corse of the next month or two.  As for google checkout, it looks like that will be added in the next week or so.  In fact if you needed it sooner, I could probably have it up and running by the end of the week.

To me it sounds like the big deal is the subscription service.  You may want to contact ten24web (the primary software company supporting slatwall) and ask about getting a solid timeline on the subscription service and to make sure that all the features you need get implemented in our original implementation of it.  Because we are a free and open source project your help in directing the development of our subscription features will not only be very helpful to us, but also ensure that you get exactly what you need for your client.

I hope that helps answer your questions.

Thanks for getting back to me, I'll keep my eye on your project and try it out soon.  Don't rush on Google checkout - our redo is at least several weeks away.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we pushed out our first official beta version "1.0_rc" which you can now download from http://www.getslatwall.com/download/ or directly from our github page: https://github.com/ten24/Slatwall

Also, I wanted to thank everyone that has helped us to get to this point.  We really appreciate all of the support, so please continue to submit bugs and feature request!

Thanks,
Greg
