Working on a great CFML app. Promote it here to get the word out.

Hi Folks,
Its been pretty dead here so I just wanted to float this idea to try
get some discussion going.

If someone was to take a list of known cf apps and great a small
banner service which could be placed on personal blogs would anyone be
interested in using it?

It could have 2 / 3 features.
# 1 it could rotate through the months top 10 apps
# 2 it could incorporate a search box which would direct someone to a
page with a comprehensive listing of cfml apps complete with
descriptions / catagorizations / rating system and maybe discussions
# 3 maybe an alternative to the top 10 apps it could pick 10 apps at
random from the listing

Let me know your thoughts on this.
Thanks

I like the idea and would use it on my blog

Depending on the implementation, I would put that on my blog and use
it to attempt to promote some of my CF apps.

I'd be willing to post something like this on my blog as long as it was a good representation of apps across multiple listings.  I like the language specific page that github does:

To speak a little bit more to #2, I really think that it would make the most sense if this tied into RIAForge ... most CFML projects are listed on RIAForge and it is a good centralized listing of all apps.  Seems like it has everything except for an API and the rating / review systems.  Doesn't it make more sense to contribute to an existing project like RIAForge than start from scratch?

Don't know if RIAForge needs expanding for this - there is already an
API. I haven't documented it well, but if you need info, let me know.
If I don't have "Get Projects by Category", I can add it, and if you
want a random one, I can easily add that as well.

That would actually be great Ray. It makes more sense to use
Riaforge's existing data then to try create another list. If you could
send any info on the existing API would be great.

Also if anyone else wants to lend a hand it would be much appreciated.

On a separate note Ray, would it be possible to add two features to
RiaForge?
#1 Could we get a subcategory system, so we could group CMS's
together, CRMs etc
#2 Could we link associated projects, for example Mura Plugins would
link to MuraCMS (just an examples)

BTW. Do you do all the development on Riaforge by yourself?

Thanks
Steven

I'll be honest - you will need to remind me. But yeah, I can do this.

No. ;)

What I want instead is a tagging system. So both a CF project and a
Flex project could have a common tag like CMS.

Well you can do that now in your description. It isn't a formal
property but it's the simplest solution.:)

Me. myself, and I.

Ah yes tagging does make more sense.

Fair play for doing all that yourself for the community.

Guys, here is the documentation - as I said, I can add pretty much anything:
