Subject: Kale Festival planning at the Peace Garden - THIS FRIDAY
Many of you already know that on Feb. 23, 2013 the San Diego Peace Garden is hosting its first, one-of-a-kind KALE FESTIVAL to celebrate a unique vegetable (& other local food) with hands-on workshops on growing and cooking locally, lectures, cooking demonstrations, children's activities, music and of course food! In order to make this a great event, I WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU to participate in the planning of it.
The festival will be a place to showcase your many talents, advertise your organizations and network with other locavore urban food enthusiasts. We envision this as a fun day to bring people together around what we all feel passionate about: healthy, local food. A little quirky, but interesting. Highlights of the festival will be a kale cooking contest, free food, cooking & food preservation demonstrations, gardening work shops, music and other performances.
If you would like to lend your expertise toward one of these events, please email me or come to the organizational meeting and if you have other ideas, by all means, please let me know.
Can you come to a SOCIAL HOUR TO PLAN THE KALE FESTIVAL
THIS FRIDAY Jan. 11th
6:00 - 8:00? Appetizers and desserts provided.
RSVP appreciated.
Location: San Diego Friends Center;
3850 Westgate Place, in City Heights.
