Folks, if you haven't heard yet, there's a great food justice get-together happening THIS SUN @ 3:30...
People attending range from completely new to food (let alone the justice issues) to seasoned community organizers. ALL welcome and encouraged to attend. AND groups/org's (food justice related) are invited to bring info to share (there will be a table for flyers etc).
The flyer is attached, but there's also a lovely short newsletter in PDF you can download (link below) that introduces the "food assembly" idea.

Next Sunday January 13 we will continue the
Growing Discussion About Food at Centro Cultural de la Raza starting at
3:30pm. The event can be found at
https://www.facebook.com/events/131896966971285/.
- It will be potluck based, you are welcome but nor required to bring a dish to share with the group.
- If
you are part of a group or organization fighting for Food Justice, are a
Farm that provides volunteer opportunities for people to place their
hands on the soil, or have educational workshops or other events the
people might find interesting (and are appropriate) you are free to
bring your literature.
- The first issue of the newsletter will be
available online as a PDF file. and will also be available during the
event (limited quantities).
- The topic of this meeting will be
"What is a People's Assembly and how does it relate to food?" we will
have guest through Skype talking about their experiences with
Assemblies, Assembly Organizing, and different models.

If
you want to get involved in the planning for this and future meetings,
