Dear Members and Organizations in support of San Diego 1 in 10,

As you know, Parke and I have been working to create a sign-on letter that could lift up the shared priorities for the Farm Bill that we have established in our group over the years to protect nutrition programs and the environment; encourage urban agriculture (markets, gardens, etc.); and support programs and research that increase sustainability and conservation in agricultural food production.    The letter and list of amendments we plan to send to our representatives in Congress can be found here:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YfgHNXHf7UsX5KTHR1bQIyydr_gpRQKNNO_bUSUNKMI/edit?usp=sharing We ask that you approve this letter as individual members of 1in10, and we encourage any organizations prepared to sign on to let us know immediately.  Because the farm bill is moving so quickly, we have a QUICK turnaround time on this.  We need to have organizational sign-ons by 10:30 AM tomorrow, Thursday, June 20th.  Thank you, Annie Lorrie

Thanks for your comments so far!  Here is a response:

- GE has been raised in the Senate and our next letter will pair amendments in both houses. (Your comments affirm what we should emphasize!) 

 

- Related to individual supporters who would like to pursue their support further: we encourage you to call, share the letter with your rep by email. If you want more info (about amendments, staff e-addresses, numbers, etc.), let me know and I'll put something together for you tomorrow morning as I'm sending out the general letter and making my own calls.
