Hey CFIG! 

This Tuesday at 8pm in Hamilton 702 CFIG will be hosting Benjamin Berg from North Brookside Capital. 

North Brookside Capital is an entrepreneur-led investment company here in New York City searching to acquire and further grow one great business. 

Benjamin Berg has expertise in identifying and unlocking value in companies, people, and processes. He brings leadership and strong experiences in sales, operations, and capital allocation to the company. Prior to founding his company, Benjamin was an investment professional at Coller Capital, worked in private equity in Credit Suisse and as an investement banker in Peter J. Solomon, after graduating from Duke with high distinction.

Upcoming Events and Opportunities

Credit Suisse BA Explorer Program 

This year’s BA Explorer program is open to current freshmen/1st year under-represented minorities of Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino and/or Native American descent interested in Global Markets (Sales and Trading and Equity Research), Investment Banking and Capital Markets, orInformation Technology. Selected participants are invited to attend an in-office career development program in May and August, in addition to an on-going mentor relationship.    

Additionally, BA Explorer participants will have the opportunity to participate in an accelerated interview process in August for the Doug Paul Program.
The Doug Paul program offers outstanding college sophomores from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds the opportunity to participate in a 9-10 week summer internship program at Credit Suisse in New York City. Students who successfully complete the Doug Paul summer internship program will be eligible to receive a scholarship and may be eligible for a junior year internship program offer.

Internship at a Tiger Club 
Coatue Management, a prominent global asset manager with offices in New York, Menlo Park, and Beijing, is looking for grow its data team in New York. We are looking for interns for Summer 2017. Coatue, established in 1999, focuses on technology, media and telecommunications stocks and private investments. It is one of the largest dedicated technology funds in the world, and  is among the leaders in the use of Big Data in fundamental research. Our data scientists work directly with fundamental analysts to come up with and refine investment ideas.
As a member of our data team, you would be working in one of the following areas:
  • Engineering
  • Data science
  • Quantitative strategy

The Point72 Academy 2017 Global Case Competition 

The Point72 Global Case Competition gives you the chance to show just how good you really are. If you’re among the best eight teams, you’ll become a Point72 Global Case Competition Finalist, which will look pretty great on your resume. 

1.Visit point72.com/academy to register. Form a team with two other students from your university, decide on a team name, and identify a captain. Each team member needs to register! 

2. We’ll send your team captain instructions for your team’s submission. We’ll ask you to use a basic financial analyst toolkit to conduct research, build a model, and submit a stock pitch as a presentation and video. 

3. We’ll send the finalist teams to NYC on us and pair each with a Point72 mentor. They’ll help you refine your pitch for your 15-minute presentation to Point72’s analysts and portfolio managers.

• Undergraduate students graduating in 2019 or 2020 from an internationally accredited university are eligible.

  • Students participating in an international exchange program can participate under their host university.

  • English language fluency is a requirement.
