Hey CFIG!

Welcome back! We hope you all had a relaxing, enjoyable break.

This Tuesday from 8-9pm in Hamilton 602 we will be hosting  two MBA students from Columbia Business School, Steven Hodgeman and Justin Weiss, who will talk about the TMT industry (Technology, Media and Telecommunications).

Steve is currently a second-year M.B.A student at Columbia Business School where he serves as the Co-President of the Investment Banking Club and Co-President of I-Prep (a volunteer mentoring program). Prior to business school, Steve worked as a strategy consultant for BTS, a global consulting firm providing analyses and recommendations of newly created strategic priorities to Fortune 500 companies, and as an internal strategy consultant for Mercer, a global human resources consulting firm focused on health, wealth and career offerings. Steve received his B.S. in Applied Economics & Management from Cornell University, will be joining Lazard's investment banking division after graduation, and is an active member of the Achilles Kids non-profit.

Justin Weiss graduated Georgetown University with a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics and is a first-year MBA student at CBS. Justin started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst in Goldman Sachs’ TMT group, later joined the venture capital industry, and then co-founded Cleardigs, a real estate software-as-a-service company.

Ripple Recruiting:
Are you looking for a summer internship, part-time job, or full-time job? Ripple is a new software startup, founded at Yale last year, that is changing the recruiting world.
In less than 10 minutes:

  1. Create an account
  2. Upload your resume
  3. Verify your email address
  4. Have your profile looked at by a variety of companies, startups, and nonprofits
    • McKinsey & Co, Twitter, Thomson Reuters, Cardinal Health, Adidas, Thumbtack, Kustomer, Patient Bank, Venture for America, Teach for America, Common Threads, and many more

Ripple is better than LinkedIn, Piazza, and Handshake because it simplifies the process for both students and employers. Currently, only Ivy League students have access to this platform, so companies know they are recruiting from a talented and qualified base of students. Companies look through student profiles and contact you directly if they think you will be a good fit for their open position. Otherwise, you won't get any spam mail!
