ESAPI variable could not be found - Coldfusion 8

Hi,

I'm getting the error: "Message: Variable ESAPIENCODER is undefined"

with this code:

<cfset esapi = CreateObject("java", "org.owasp.esapi.ESAPI") />

<cfset esapiEncoder = esapi.encoder() />

I can't find the cause.
