CFEclipse 1.4.6 and Eclipse 3.7.2

Hi All,

Not sure if I have a version compatibility issue (although I bet that is the issue) or some other issue, but online searching is not bringing up what I need ;-)

So I grabbed a fresh copy of Eclipse 3.7.2 (needed for Flash Builder 4.6 plugin compatibility) 32 bit version and got it running on Windows 7 - easy peasy as always

I then added the cfeclipse update site to the install new software interface in Eclipse and dutifully followed the CFEclipse plugin install instructions on the CFEclipse site...all seemed fine and then.....

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
  Software being installed: CFEclipse (including MXUnit and Frameworks) 1.4.6.R201403180646 (org.cfeclipse.cfml.feature.feature.group 1.4.6.R201403180646)
  Missing requirement: CFML Plug-in 1.4.6.R201403180646 (org.cfeclipse.cfml 1.4.6.R201403180646) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.ui.browser [3.4.0,4.0.0)' but it could not be found
  Cannot satisfy dependency:
    From: CFEclipse (including MXUnit and Frameworks) 1.4.6.R201403180646 (org.cfeclipse.cfml.feature.feature.group 1.4.6.R201403180646)
    To: org.cfeclipse.cfml [1.4.6.R201403180646]


So again....I bet it's a version issue and CFEclipse 1.4.6 doesn't run on Eclipse 3.7.2, but I can't find the Eclipse reqs for CFEclipse 1.4.6 to save my life ;-)

Me again already.....I figured I'd test my theory by asking Eclipse to not just show the latest version of CFEclipse (as I have 1.4.4 working fine with Eclipse Helios elsewhere)....problem is....it ONLY SHOWS 1.4.6 no matter what I do??

So I can't even select an older CFEclipse version - huh?

I 'll keep digging while waiting for someone brighter than I to chime in ;-)

OK...now I'm confused.....the error I got shows CFEclipse needs the org.eclipse.ui.browser package - version 3.4

I see that Eclipse 3.7.2 comes with org.eclipse.ui.browser package - version 3.3

What confuses me is why Eclipse even shows me CFEclipse 1.4.6 as an option when I have the "show only software compatible with this version (or similar wording)" option checked???

I sense a cluster frig of some kind working against me ;-)

moving on to other things and hoping someone will be able to explain later

Why do you use eclipse 3.7?
Update to 3.8 or 4.3!

The old update site has been moved to cfeclipse.org/update-archive
Try this!
