Hi,

I downloaded the Eclipse 4.3 Kepler release and tried to install CFEclipse

I git the error
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
  Software being installed: CFEclipse 1.0.0.qualifier (org.cfeclipse.cfml.product 1.0.0.qualifier)
Missing requirement: CFML Plug-in 1.4.5.I20121110-1924 (org.cfeclipse.cfml 1.4.5.I20121110-1924) requires 'bundle com.ibm.icu [4.4.0,5.0.0)' but it could not be found
  Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: CFEclipse (including MXUnit and Frameworks) 1.4.5.I20121110-1924 (org.cfeclipse.cfml.feature.feature.group 1.4.5.I20121110-1924)
    To: org.cfeclipse.cfml [1.4.5.I20121110-1924]
  Cannot satisfy dependency:

    To: org.cfeclipse.cfml.feature.feature.group [1.4.5.I20121110-1924]

When I try not to install 1.0.0 but CFEclipse (including MXUnit and Frameworks) 1.4.5.I20121110-1924 I get a similar error.

What might 'bundle com.ibm.icu [4.4.0,5.0.0)' be?

Best,
Bernhard

Eclipse 4.3 comes with com.ibm.icu 5.1.1 (com.ibm.icu_50.1.1.v201304230130.jar)
Where do you define [4.4.0,5.0.0) which means from 4.4 but lower 5.0 is allowed?

How are you trying to install CFEclipse? Have you tried a clean install of Kepler?

The eclipse Kepler release comes with com.ibm.icu_50.1.1.v201304230130.jar in the plugins folder

The error states

Missing requirement: CFML Plug-in 1.4.5.I20121110-1924 (org.cfeclipse.cfml 1.4.5.I20121110-1924) requires 'bundle com.ibm.icu [4.4.0,5.0.0)' but it could not be found
the 'square brackets 4.4,5.0.0 round bracket' means: any version between 4.4 and 5.0 exclusive are allowed. eclipse 3.8 and 4.3 break that compatibility by delivering a version greater or equal 5.0 of the com.ibm.icu bundle

I try to install cfeclipse from site
http://cfeclipse.org/update-dev
which hosts a version of 1.4.5I201211110-1924

Hi Bernhard,

I'm just trying to find my feet with the build process at the moment.

I've managed to build a local version, and as far as I can tell it doesn't specify any version info for that package.

You can download it from my dropbox:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/s564db61bq1ixfe/cfeclipse-alpha.zip

If you go to Help -> Install New Software, then press "Add", then "Archive" and select the location where you downloaded the above ZIP file, I'd be curious to know if that works please?

Regards,
Andrew.

(P.S.  You might see a link to ColdFusion 10 dictionaries in this build - they are not complete, but I am working on it... ;-))

Maybe it's just because the package was packed with a version of eclipse working with a version lower 5; thanks for caring.

I'm running into this issue today with

Version: Kepler Service Release 2
Build id: 20140212-2123

also with

Version: Kepler Service Release 1
Build id: 20130919-0819

Was this issue ever resolved?

I'm running Kepler on windows 7 64 bit with cfeclipse.

Make sure that you install the preview version of cfeclipse. To be honest, it doesn't matter what version of eclipse you're running, just install the preview version.

You can resolve the issue also by downloading the update with the steps below .

1. launch Eclipse
2. Go to Help, click on ECLIPSE MARKETPLACE and fill cfeclipse in the find area.
3. Download the update, exit and relaunch Eclipse.

Bernhard,
I had a similar issue. I solved it by installing Eclipse 4.2.2 Juno instead of 4.3 Kepler. It is the highest Eclipse I could find that meets the "bundle com.ibm.icu [4.4.0,5.0.0)" requirement (Greater than or equal to 4.4.0 and less than 5.0.0).

I got it from the Eclipse archives here...
http://archive.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/R-4.2.2-201302041200/winPlatform.php

Note: I don't know what other plugins come with the archive packages. It may not have as many as the current 4.3 "standard" package.

I then installed CFEclipse 1.4.5.I20121110-1924 from http://cfeclipse.org/update/ via Eclipse Help/Install New Software

FYI: I explored a number of Eclipse packages...
  • 4.3 has com.ibm.icu_50.1.1.v201304230130.jar
  • 4.22 has com.ibm.icu_4.4.2.v20110823.jar
  • 4.2 has com.ibm.icu_4.4.2.v20110823.jar
  • 3.52 has com.ibm.icu_4.0.1.v20090822.jar
  • 3.50 has com.ibm.icu_4.0.1.v20090415.jar
Hope this helps!

Howdy!

Ok, so the update site stuff has changed a good bit since the 3.x days.

As a result, we're rocking a fresh update site for CFE 1.4.6. The old
update site has been moved to cfeclipse.org/update-archive.

In sum, both update and update-dev should now be working with the latest
Eclipse.

If you're still getting the error about resolving dependencies, try
uninstalling CFE (Help > About Eclipse > Installation Details, select
CFE plugins, > Uninstall...), exiting eclipse, and restarting with
-clean which seems blow out the cruft.

2) Help > Check for Updates

I'm pretty much up to speed on the new Eclipse update stuff now, so we
could try creating a repo with the needed artifacts for both to fix
this, if it's biting a lot of people.

Otherwise I say we point people at your instructions and carry on!
