External app and eclipse

Hi,

I have two questions. I hope I can find answers here.

1. Is it possible to connect an external app (running on Android Studio) to Eclipse (client-server type of connection)? if yes? How? 

2. Is it also possible to trace the transmission of data (at network level) between two Java applications (client-server apps)?
