Hi, all…

Never had this problem…

Eclipse/CFEclipse, when started and is setting itself up, is getting hung up with “Building Workspace”

in the right bottom corner running and also before the workspace shows the icons on the files/folders

for SVN connection establishment.

I’ve tried rebooting Windows (7RC, on which it’s been running fine for months), restarting just Eclipse/CFEclispe,

but before I can make any adjustments to the setup, it locks up and goes into “No Responding” mode.

CPU usage is at 2 or 3%, so it’s not a saturated CPU.  Physical Memory is at 58%, so it’s not saturated memory.

I haven’t made any recent changes to the program.  (I’m at the end of a loooong project, so I wouldn’t dare

change anything at this point!)

I just wonder if there’s something I can adjust somewhere in the files that would allow me to at least get

the program up and running (without losing all my settings/files/folders) so I could see what’s happening.

Anyone experienced something like this and found a solution?

Win 7 RC / Eclipse 3.4.2 / CFE 1.3.4

Thanks,

Rick

Have you tried starting eclipse using the -clean option?  You can either do this from the command line, or temporarily add it to your eclipse shortcut.

you could stop eclipse, move/rename your workspace carefully!! then when you restart point to a new dummy workspace.

you can also start eclipse with a -clean argument.

If you're quick, you should be able to get the progress view up before
it locks up, and hit the red square/cross to stop things happening.

It might take a while to actually stop, and Eclipse will likely lock
up during that time, but give it some time and it should eventually
wake up again.

At that point, go into Preferences and type "build" into the filter
box, then locate the "build automatically" option and disable it.

@Jacob & Michael...it worked!
@Peter...I tried to to jump into progress view, but it was quicker than I was!
