I should like to add my voice to growing claim that fresh installation
of CFEclipse fails on Eclipse 3.6.2. recent Installation. CFEclipse
1.4.4 has been out for some time. I therefore find it peculiar that
the version in the error message is 1.4.3. the error message reads
something like

"An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
Unable to read repository at http://www.cfeclipse.org/update/plugins/org.cfeclipse.cfml_1.4.3.xxx.jar.
Read timed out".

However, I kept trying until, several hours later, CFEclipse finally
installed. The version is 1.4.3.201010230020 (Not 1.4.4.x as I had
expected!). when I attempt to update the installation, I get the
following familiar message:

"An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
Unable to read repository at http://www.cfeclipse.org/update/plugins/org.cfeclipse.cfml_1.4.4.201012220425.jar.
Read timed out".

When I attempted to install the preview version, I got:

"An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
Unable to read repository at
http://cfeclipse.org/update-preview/plugins/org.cfeclipse.cfml_1.4.5.201101190951.jar.
Read timed out
Unable to read repository at
http://cfeclipse.org/update-preview/plugins/org.cfeclipse.cfml.frameworks_1.0.3.3.jar.
Read timed out
Unable to read repository at
http://cfeclipse.org/update-preview/plugins/org.mxunit.eclipseplugin_1.4.0.201103091103.jar.

Is there a problem with the cfeclipse.org server?

Denny and I are both at cf.Objective but we've discussed this a bit and will be digging into it when we get back.

It's a difficult error to reproduce because for the majority of people it works fine. FWIW  I installed CFEclipse at my new job last week with no issues.     If we can find 2-3 people who consistently have issues  perhaps you can help us debug things??

Further to my last email, it was

CFEclipse (including MXUnit and Frameworks) 1.4.3.201010230020 that
installed from /update

Not sure what happened to 1.4.4...?

Hi Guys,

Just for the record, I just installed Eclipse 64 bit for Linux
(version details below).

Eclipse SDK
Version: 3.6.2
Build id: M20110210-1200

I installed successfully the plugin from http://cfeclipse.org/update.
As the other user pointed out this was actually reporting itself as
1.4.3.something however it worked succesfully.

I then removed this via the "revert" option in Help -> About ->
Instillation History.

After this I installed from http://cfeclipse.org/update-preview. This
installed without problem also, and is reporting itself as
1.4.5.201101190951

So sadly I couldn't reproduce the problem (I say sadly because I
always find reproducible problems a lot easier to fix :))

Andrew.

Thanks for trying to replicate it! We talked it over with the vivio
tech guys too, and didn't have any "eureka" moments.

Not sure why 1.4.4 isn't showing. I'm way behind on getting 1.4.5
out, which should fix some of the "versions not showing" problems.

Getting similar error if not the same:

session context was:(profile=SDKProfile,
phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=,
action=).
Unable to read repository at http://www.cfeclipse.org/update/plugins/org.cfeclipse.cfml_1.4.3.201010230020.jar.

Still trying, will see whether it works out...
