Dear friends,

Today, with a dozen other people, I blockaded a driveway for seven hours, in an action intended to serve as a prelude to a much bigger action tomorrow..  

Behind us,  a crew of workers string barb wire atop a fence that separated me from the FERC-approved construction site that will prep fracked gas for storage in Seneca lake salt caverns.

So, we found ourselves locked out instead of locked up.

As you know, I usually speak in words and compel my readers to make their own pictures.  But sometimes the power of film is exactly what’s needed.

So, here is your invitation to join me on Friday morning, 9 am, in the Walmart parking lot in Watkins Glen.  It's a four-minute video created by the extrarodinary filmmaker Bryan Root, who endured the cold wind with us.

All the logistical details you need for tomorrow’s WE ARE SENECA LAKE rally—along with all the science, the ethics, and the loving resolve—are in the movie.
