Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure if you're aware but Kym Kovan, a long time cfaussie member and Coldfusion stalwart passed away recently from motor neurone disease.

Kym was one of the gurus when I started CF back in 1998, and I had the pleasure of having her as part of my development team over the past couple of years.

It's a sad loss for the Coldfusion community.

Regards,
Adam

Oh dear!  I am so sorry about this.  Kym was a good friend to me when I needed one.  Always had time for an encouraging word, and help when I needed it.  Was always quick to offer a suggestion when I was stuck on a technical thing.

You are right, it's a sad loss for the ColdFusion community.

Thanks for letting us know, Adam.

Cheers

I met Kym a couple of times at webDU - like a lot of CFML people I meet, very passionate and generous.

Goodness... I met Kym once ages ago at one WebDU when I was still quite green in the ColdFusion space, I found her very insightful...

My condolences, Adam.

Regards,

Eliseo

In an interesting co-incidence that after reading this message this morning I came across this research project. It is, I think, worthy of support and I hope would be something that Kym would have approved of.

I only spoke to her on the phone once... and she was so clever that I felt like I should hand my two degrees back.

She was so sweet about it, though.

My condolences.

Hi Adam,

I have been wondering and worried; I pass the old MBComms office most days and I am touched with a weird combination of sadness and humor remembering awesome times with Kym and Fiona.
Most people don't know that asd well as being a CF and mail guru, Kym was involved in putting color TV into the BBC and also had a lot to do with the installation and maintenance of the pipe organ in the opera house.

And yes always willing to advance the CF cause without that much care for herself.

Irreplaceable!

So sorry to hear Adam. Spoke to Kym many times over the years at WebDu. She was someone I really looked up as a guru. She was so knowledgeable and always helpful.

My thoughts are with her friends and family.

Very sad loss.
