Hi there,

i just tried several times to install a proper working version of CFast under windows 7 - 64bit. There always appears the following message after hitting the "GEOMETRY" or "RUN" button:-(

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Anybody knows a trick to solve that and get a working software?

Thanx a lot!

The first thing to try is to verify that your are using US english units for the program. See

for details.

If that does not work, please post a file listing of the CFAST programs directory (usually c:\Program Files(x86)\CFAST6) so we can make sure things got installed correctly.

This seems to be an unfriendly error message that you get when you try to run (Run button) or visualize (Geometry button) a simulation when you haven't created any simulation.  You need to either open an existing input file or create a simulation (adding compartment(s), vent(s), and fire(s) to the simulation before you try to run it.

That said, the program should be more friendly about this.  We'll fix it so that it's more recognizable as a lack of inputs for the next version.

Hi Rick,

Thanx a lot for fast answering! It seems to be solved - the US english units were the problem! So I just have to change my homesettings (german units) to that one...
Installation of CFast is running under Win 7 64bit....

Glad it worked.  An easy solution is to set up a user account on the machine that is set to US English since it is a per user setting.  That way it doesn't mess up your entire machine with different language settings.
